Hello! We are so glad you’re here.
The Jacob Puddister Memorial Foundation is a charitable organization that was created by Jake’s family to honour the son, brother, grandson, and friend Jake was to so many. Although he struggled with mental illness for many years, Jake prioritized the needs and feelings of all those he loved and cared about.
Our mandate is to provide mental health resources to youth in Newfoundland and Labrador and to help eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health through various fundraising efforts, community partnerships, and direct services such as individual counselling, group counselling, and peer support.
The Garden of Hope
Memorial Pavers
The Garden of Hope is located in Bay Bulls, NL and is designed to be a place where folks can remember and honour loved ones who have died by suicide or addiction. Through this beautiful garden, we hope to provide a comfortable place where visitors can be with their grief- either by themselves, with their family/friends, or as a community.By proudly displaying our loved one's names, we are hoping to decrease the stigma associated with dying by suicide or addiction and create a physical reminder of their love and legacy. We hope that in telling the stories of our loved ones, we are creating space for more people to come forward and access mental health support.Each year, 20 engraved pavers honouring the lives of loved ones lost to suicide and addiction will be installed at the Garden of Hope.
